Abstrakti
This introductory chapter sets the scene for the book by exploring why it’s important to study fathers and care. It highlights the gaps in existing research that the book aims to fill and outlines its conceptual approach, beginning with an overview of what is already known about how fathers engage in caregiving. After this, factors that according to earlier research facilitate fathers’ involvement in care are discussed. Finally, it presents the book’s four thematic sections and introduces the 19 chapters that follow.
