Abstrakti
The study examines the digital transformation emerging in the transport
field. Theoretically, the study emphasizes the perspectives of Digital
Employee Experience (DEX) and Sensemaking (Weick, 1995). The case
study is based on interviews and a survey of transport employees in Finland.
The results of the study present four different views on digital employee
experience, namely 1) the liberating versus the enslaving views on
technology, 2) the clarifying versus the confusing views on technology, 3)
the dependence and the independence views on technology and 4) the
flexible versus the rigid environment views on technology. The views'
contents reflect technology's role in shaping the employee experience in
different ways. The views are considered relevant to studying the concept
of experience and the development of the transport sector.
