Textile industry is one of the biggest producers of emissions globally. We produce many kinds of waste also in the printing studio at the University of Lapland and minimizing waste is an important aspect of responsible studio manners.
With the Reprint -process I focus on the possibilities of waste. A print design is developed by cutting and pasting from old photo-stencils once used by a printing house. This recycled pattern is then printed on second-hand fabrics using leftover dyes from the printing studio. Reprint -exhibition shows the first loop of the process.
