Powers of Nature Art Workshops in the International Socially Engaged Art Symposium 2020

In this experiential workshop, our art collective aimed to work with facilitating the relearning of establishing relationships with nature. This was undertaken through different techniques and exercises using our feelings, our senses and emotions. Trees, stones and the land all have a conscious awareness and when one opens out our hearts and minds, communication is then possible. Francis Joy who is a Druid from England, facilitated these processes. In addition, dance teacher and dancer Hugo Peña Lagos will helped enhance our bodily knowledge and relationship with nature. Painter Smaranda-Sabina Moldovan and artist-teacher Maria Huhmarniemi brought clay and other materials from nature to add to these interactions.
