The rugs in the exhibition depict the impact of climate change on the Finnish winter and thus on Finnish identity, which was once built largely on northern nature.
The average temperature in Finland has risen by more than two degrees since the middle of the 19th century. In the future, in particular winter temperatures will rise. In the future, Finland's temperature will rise more and faster than the global average.
Finnish identity is largely built on coping with northern nature and winter. To what extent will the white color of the Finnish flag, symbolizing snow, be true in the coming decades? What kind of gap opens up as the Finnish symbols realated to winters and snow, the soul landscape, living conditions and environment change?
