Can algorithms be regulated by law. Does the requirement of transparancy by the GDPR for a valid and maintanable hold any validity. There are too many interpretation and too many different uses to create a harmonized legal framework.Algorithms control and determine more and more the decision-making of government, industry and individuals about people. Decision-making with legal consequences for the data subjects must be transparent and explainable according to the GDPR. What do these requirements mean for the development and application of algo rhythms? Is regulation realistic, are general principles a better idea or do we become “slaves to the Algorithm”
