Abstrakti
The phenomenon of “ethnic cleansing” is comparatively old and carried out by dominant mainstream communities to eliminate smaller groups from their country. The brutality perpetrated on the Rohingyas by the Myanmar government has compelled them to flee their homeland. The government of Bangladesh has given shelter to a large number of Rohingyas, which has led to tension and hostility between the local natives and the Rohingyas. The article explores the importance of addressing multiple complexities to develop resilience for societal protection and risk reduction. Data for this research is mostly based on secondary literature and focus group discussions with researchers, NGO activists, and local people.
