Developing Arctic Modelling and Observing Capabilities for Long-term Environmental Studies

DAMOCLES is one of the largest EU projects ever, aiming at reducing the uncertainties in our understanding of climate change in the Arctic and its impacts. The research at the Arctic Centre within DAMOCLES is specifically concerned with the potential for a significantly reduced sea ice cover as perceived in the Arctic fisheries sector and the impacts this might have on the commercial and indigenous fisheries activities in Northern Norway (Finnmark) and Russia (Murmansk region).
