Lola Cervant (México, 1989) is a designer, artist and researcher working with craft-based art and design to reflect on the relationship between human, nature and territory. Her main interest lies in the intersection of textile craft, drawing and contemporary design through collaborative processes and Art-Based methods; she is interested in wool crafts, sustainability, Arctic issues, local materials, natural dyes, bio-art and traditional and Indigenous Knowledge. She has exhibited her works individually in Mexico, Hungary, Slovakia and Finland. Her recent work has been exhibited at the Rovaniemi Art Museum and the Finnish Craft Museum in Jyväskyla.

She works as a designer at the EU-funded project: VillaInno - WoolInnovation 2023-2026 at the University of Lapland, where she is also a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Art and Design. She is a member of the board of the Artists' Association of Lapland - Lapin Taiteilijaseura (2026-2027).

Her work combines interdisciplinary approaches with traditional craft techniques using wool to explore the relationship between people and land. Her pieces feature human, land, language of plants, fungi and more than human agencies, speculating upon the transition of the antrhopocenic era towards an eco-centered future and advocating for the rights of nature to exist and a new model based on environmental stewardship rather than exploitation of ecosytems.

With her work, Cervantes draws inspiration from cartographic and scientific illustrations interweaving issues of borders and inviting us to see beyond man-made maps, human-centric and colonial approaches of land and territory.
