Artha Dermawan, from Bali - Indonesia, is a doctoral student (LL.D), artificial intelligence (AI) and intellectual property law researcher and at the University of Lapland. Artha is currently researching the most suitable legal framework within the copyright and related rights realm to regulate creative AI-assisted outputs.
His doctoral study is supported by the Max Planck Institute in Germany, a world-leading science and technology organization with 38 Nobel Prizes awarded to its scientists and is widely regarded as one of the best research organizations in the world.
In 2019, Artha was awarded the Stuned Scholarship from the Kingdom of the Netherlands to continue his advanced master’s studies in intellectual property law and knowledge management (IPKM) at Maastricht University.
His main research interests are Asian and European copyright, trademark and design law in AI, modern art and fashion industry.
