The University of Lapland (Finland) is the first and, currently, the only Western partner university of Sapporo City University (Japan) and for the upcoming years under this new partnership both student exchange and research collaboration will be included and created in their strategic goals.
The aim of the project is to enable cultural exchange between the University of Lapland and its partner in Japan, namely, Sapporo City University. The workshop aims to set collaboration in mobility initiatives (teacher, personnel, student and/or trainee mobility), and at the same time to look into possibilities regarding setting up new study modules, curriculum or/ and business cooperation in a wider learning environment to follow.
The project consists of joint workshops with the two partners as well as subsequent exhibitions and further implementation planning related to them. These will all be planned with the aim of setting up more detailed plans of collaboration for the future. Workshops will be documented carefully for further research, which aims to develop the contents of the education and to consolidate the artistic and scientific applied research of the art & design field. In addition the photos and video materials of the project could be used as a research data for the electronic and printed publications.
