Digital technologies are increasingly becoming an integral part of today´s creative industry. This quickly developing field offers new job opportunities for designers but also an important role in shaping the new technological landscape. When it comes to diversity it is recognized that women are underrepresented in tech. Teaching design students e-textiles and wearables can give them opportunity to take part in technology design. In this talk, Emmi Harjuniemi will share her experiences in researching wearables and educating electronic textiles in the University of Lapland.
