Abstract

The closing chapter of this collection of essays expands on the theme of hopeful, engaged, critical, and arts-based pedagogy by articulating some of the themes that characterize pedagogy of hope as ontological orientation. The chapter shares some the feedback and dialogue held between chapter authors and their reflective partners. The reflective partners were invited by the editors to respond to the chapter texts from a personal and emotional perspective; to share with the authors who they were; and how the storied chapters touched or resonated with them or with their work. This was done to expand the scope of the dialogue and perspectives. The chapter underlines, once more, the overall aim of this book: to portray diverse perspectives on how to work in communities and locations of distress, marginalization, oppression, and turmoil by utilizing arts-embedded, ethical, and hopeful pedagogy as well as to initiate dialogue.
