Abstract
The volume, published under the auspices of the Italian Navy, brings together twelve contributions which, far from being confined to a purely military and strategic perspective—as the institutional background of the editors might at first suggest—develop a wide-ranging reflection on the transformation of contemporary maritime spaces. In doing so, it offers both a significant contribution to geopolitical and geographical studies properly understood, and an insightful perspective on the reception and use of geopolitics by individuals from backgrounds not strictly academic.
