Description

PARTY (Participatory Development with the Youth) project draws on service design. It investigates and creates solutions to the problems of unemployed San youths living in South Africa and Namibia.The international project is coordinated by the University of Lapland, and it collaborates with partners from Italy, the UK, South Africa, and Namibia.

The main objective of the research project is to prevent youth unemployment in developing countries by creating participatory tools for them. The project focuses on the San people living in the Northern Cape Province in South Africa and in the Omaheke Region in Namibia. The San have a variety of social, cultural, and political problems and their communities are among the poorest in South Africa and Namibia.

The project is funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union with 1,1 million (2015 - 2019)
