Description

School Leadership in the Arctic (ArkTORI) is a research-based development project that supports principals in school development and strategic competence management. The project also focuses on provincial and SOTE reforms and the management of schools welfare work in the field of cultural and SOTE cooperation.

Objectives:
- Plan mobile application to help strengthen principals' professional development. The application design utilizes service design methods.
- Develops basic and advanced training for principals in the context of northern conditions.
- Create models and practices to support peer mentoring and networking by principals.
- Support rectors interface knowledge in welfare co-operation structures and SISOTE co-operation.

The project is coordinated by the University of Lapland and implemented in cooperation with the University of Oulu and the University of Applied Sciences of Lapland. From the University of Lapland, the project involves the Faculty of Education (Coordination), the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Arts. All 21 municipalities of Lapland and the Regional Administrative Board of Lapland are involved.
