Description
This project will explore specific issues related to teacher education within the Arctic region. It aims to contribute to a better understanding of the contextual and cultural issues in education in the Arctic via engagement with local communities and especially with indigenous communities, through institutional and research collaborations.
It will focus on joint research activities and knowledge exchange among teacher educators and between educational institutions and local communities around inclusive practices, such as arctic pedagogy that incorporates indigenous pedagogical practices; innovative approaches to education in sparsely populated areas; community-based education; and using technology to enhance participation and agency; and pedagogical models taking the previous into account.
