FROST: Arctic freshwater food systems: Influence of warming winters and increased snow cover

FROST brings together Indigenous knowledge, natural sciences, and social sciences to understand how warmer winters are transforming Arctic lakes. Our research focuses on changes in lake ice, fish health, and community well-being, with the goal of supporting locally informed adaptation strategies.

FROST was created to better understand how Arctic lakes are changing in a warming climate and what this means for the communities that depend on them. By combining scientific research with Indigenous knowledge, we aim to co-create strategies that sustain healthy lakes, secure food resources, and support traditional ways of life.
