Research interests

I currently work in the intersecting fields of history, sociology and cultural studies. My research projects have combined arts, culture and social science as well as historical knowledge.

The topics I have done research on encompass life stories of so-called ordinary women; women’s work in northern Finland; the history of everyday life in Lapland; Sámi handicraft as work; arts and culture as a source of social well-being in Lapland; village fools and the folklore concerning them; napping cultures in Finland; and equality and gender in journalism.
