Research interests
I am a terrestrial ecologist with a specific interest on the stocks and cycles of carbon and nutrients in cold ecosystems. More specifically, I am interested in how soil-plant interactions drive elemental cycling under various controls that include e.g. vegetation community composition and microclimate, herbivory and climatic changes. As study systems, I use treeless tundra habitats with varying vegetation cover ranging from barren frost boils to nutrient-poor heaths, flush meadows and permafrost-affected peatlands.
