Personal profile

Research interests

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Arts, focusing in audiovisual storytelling related to nature and particularly forests.

My PhD dissertation (2022) scrutinizes the concept and construction of nature in selected television wildlife documentaries. I also developed a new method of screenwriting for understanding the concept of nature emerging through their storytelling and cinematography.

My post-doctoral research (2023–2025), titled 'Becoming a forest', delves into articulating the relationships between the concept of forest and its presentations. Its based on a new materialist theoretical framework, and provides a view to a constantly evolving forest.

Theoretically, I situate my research within the realms of posthumanism, ecocritical film studies, and documentary film studies. Originally, my background is in media studies and forest science. Prior to my research, I worked in the field of documentary television programs for about ten years.
