Research interests
Researcher into Sámi culture, history, religion, culture. Working with the Sami who are the indigenous people of northern Scandinavia and north-West Russia. Engagement has taken place through interviews and seminar presentations and cooperation projects, focusing primarily on religious practices both past and present, traditional knowledge the relationship with culture, which primarily focuses on the re-emergence of the practice of Sámi shamanism and re-use of symbolism and cosmological structures and landscapes in contemporary society.
