Research interests

Lola Cervant (México, 1989) is a designer, artist and researcher working with craft-based art and design to reflect on the relationship between human, nature and territory. Her main interest lies in the intersection of textile craft, drawing and contemporary design through collaborative processes and Art-Based methods, she is interested in wool crafts, sustainability, Arctic issues, local materials, natural dyes, bio-art and traditional and Indigenous Knowledge. She has exhibited her works individually in Mexico, Hungary, Slovakia and Finland. Her recent work has been exhibited at the Rovaniemi Art Museum and the Finnish Craft Museum in Jyväskyla. She currently works as a designer at the EU-funded projects: VillaInno - WoolInnovation 2023-2026 and at TB-GOBRA Team Building for Green Organizational Behaviour in Rural Areas, 2024-2025 at the University of Lapland, where she is also a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Art and Design. She is a member of the board of the Artists' Association of Lapland - Lapin Taiteilijaseura.
