Emmi Kairenius is an artist and doctoral researcher based in Rovaniemi. In her doctoral research, Kairenius explores northern urban environment and its expanded use through artistic practice. Her study focuses particularly on the connections between the work of art, adult play, and the everyday aesthetics within a northern urban context.
In her artistic practice, Kairenius engages bodily within public spaces and everyday environments. Her artistic works take the form of process-based object collections, installations, and photographs, as well as performative site-specific interventions and their documentation.
