Research interests
Corinna Casi is a Doctoral researcher in ValueBioMat, a funded project by the Academy of Finland (2019-2022) affiliated to the Faculty of Law, University of Lapland, Rovaniemi (Finland). She is also a Doctoral Candidate in Environmental Ethics at the Discipline of Practical Philosophy, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Helsinki, (Finland). She is a member of HELSUS (Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science) and INEQ (Helsinki Inequality Initiative). She collaborated with The Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law (NIEM) at the Arctic Center, University of Lapland, in two projects and relative publications: one related to Human Security in the Barents Region (2017-2018) and the other to Food Security in the Arctic (2018-2020).
In September 2019 she riceived the Vonne Lund Prize as young resercher, awarded by EurSafe, the European Society for Agriculture and Food Ethics.
She taught Environmental Ethics at the Helsinki Summer School 2016-2019, University of Helsinki; at the Tampere University 2011-2019 and at Nordhausen Hochschule (Germany) 2014-2019 and at IPAG Business School in Paris (France) in 2014.
She was visiting scholar at: University of Palermo (Italy) in 2018 and 2017; the University of Latvia, in Riga (Latvia) in 2014; the University of Iceland in Reykjavik (Iceland) in 2013.
She was a Board member at Nordic Summer University (NSU) network (2015-2016) and NSU vice-Chair in 2016.
She worked at the Italian Cultural Institute, part of the Italian Embassy in Helsinki (2007-2009).
She received a Master in Moral Philosophy with the highest grade at the University of Bologna, in Italy in 2005.
She studied during the Autumn Term at Brown University, RI, (USA) in 2004 to research documents her Master thesis and one year as exchange student at the Université de Dijon (France) in 2002-2003.
