Teaching interests

Anu Kylmänen (MA) is a University Teacher, Clothing Design. I´m worked in University of Lapland from the 1st of August, 2013. My main subjects are clothing design, specialized in design of functional clothing, projects, history of clothing design and design softwares (like Adobe Illustrator and Kaledo).

Before that I worked in Vocational school of Lapland and there my main subjects was patterns, fit and clothes industry. I was special education teacher for the young students, who learn about different way.

My education is Clothing design, specialized in International clothing industry. My first graduated (PA and MA) University of applied science and then MA in University of Lapland. I have working experience from clothing industry and business from the 1996 until 2010.

Research interests

Anu Kylmänen (MA) is a University Teacher, Clothing Design. She has been working in the University of Lapland from the 1st of August, 2013. Work experience in the apparel industry creates a foundation for her interest in developing apparel design with innovative and exploratory teaching methods. Kylmänen is one of the first experts in the clothing industry in Finland to have developed a body scanner and the integration of pattern software and their utilization in clothing design. She is currently involved in the development of the virtual world in the clothing industry. In the dissertation, Kylmänen's research focuses, how clothing affects a person's emotions.
