Research interests

Alina Lehtonen is a PhD student at the University of Lapland and within her research, Lehtonen is especially interested in environmental protection legislation, water regulation and waste regulation combined to resource efficiency and circular economy.

Lehtonen has done reseach as well in the fields of industrial waste streams and bioeconomyIn addition to her PhD studies in the field of law, Lehtonen is studying environmental engineering at the University of Oulu, Faculty of Technology.

Lehtonen has got funding from the Maj and Tor Nessling Foundation, Alfred Kordelin Foundation, Suomalainen Lakimiesyhdistys ry (Finnish Lawyers' Association), Lakimiesliitto (The Association of Finnish Lawyers) and Heldt Foundation.

Teaching interests

Alina Lehtonen has teached environmental law to the law students at the Faculty of Law in the University of Lapland several years. She has been the second supervisor in several master's thesis in procedural law and in environmental law at the Faculty of Law.
