Welcome to the joint film screening and discussion event of the Working Group on Colonialism of the Historians without Borders in Finland and Cinema Orion on Monday, May 13, 2024! In the fifth joint movie night, we will watch the western classic The Searchers, and think about settlement colonialism in historical images and popular culture throughout the ages.Docent Risto Marjomaa, doctoral researcher and non-fiction author Kukka Ranta, and professor emeritus Markku Henriksson are discussing in the event, which is moderated by the head of HWB's colonialism working group, professor of world politics Teivo Teivainen.
